White House Issues Fierce Denials Over Trump Hospitalisation Rumours
The White House has launched a scathing attack on what it called 'deranged liberals' for promoting a conspiracy theory that President Donald Trump was hospitalised on Saturday. The official 'Rapid Response 47' X account issued multiple forceful denials after social media rumours circulated claiming the president had been rushed to Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington DC.
Social Media Storm Over Presidential Whereabouts
Rumours about Trump's hospitalisation gained traction after the president hadn't been seen publicly for almost three days. The speculation intensified on Saturday when the White House placed a 'lid' on his schedule at 10am, an official notification to the press corps indicating no further public appearances for the day.
'Deranged liberals cook up insane conspiracy theories when @POTUS goes 12 hours without speaking to press,' the Rapid Response 47 account declared. '(They said nothing when Biden routinely went 12 days without speaking to press). Fear not! President Trump literally never stops working.'
White House Counteroffensive on Multiple Fronts
The White House account reshared an image from a reporter showing a Marine sentry standing outside the Oval Office, clearly indicating Trump was inside the building. This visual evidence was presented as direct contradiction to what officials labelled 'insane conspiracy theories' about hospitalisation.
When liberal political influencer Ed Krassenstein shared an X post stating 'Speculation is rising that Donald Trump is at Walter Reed Medical Center,' the White House response was particularly brutal. 'No, you're just a weapons-grade moron,' the Rapid Response 47 account fired back.
Conspiracy Theories Gain Millions of Views
The false rumours about Trump's hospitalisation were shared by numerous X accounts, accumulating millions of views. Political commentator Mark Slapinski falsely alleged there were 'credible reports' that Trump had been hospitalised, while commentator Dr Jane Ruby described the rumour as a 'developing story.'
Dr Ruby shared footage from outside a hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania following the failed assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024, apparently suggesting this was current footage of Trump on Saturday. This misleading presentation added fuel to the speculative fire spreading across social media platforms.
White House Communications Strategy
White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung addressed the situation indirectly on Saturday evening, sharing an X post that appeared designed to combat the hospitalisation claims without directly acknowledging them. 'There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump,' Cheung stated.
'On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office. God Bless him,' Cheung added, reinforcing the message that Trump was actively working rather than hospitalised.
Trump's Actual Activities Revealed
Trump's last public appearance was a primetime address to the nation regarding the war with Iran on April 1. White House aides explained that the president had been away from media attention while focusing intensely on the international conflict for several days.
On Saturday evening, Trump himself posted an update about the Iran war on his Truth Social platform, sharing dramatic video footage of explosions filling the skies over Iran. 'Many of Iran's Military Leaders, who have led them poorly and unwisely, are terminated, along with much else, with this massive strike in Tehran! President DONALD J. TRUMP,' his post declared.
This direct communication from the president served as further evidence contradicting the hospitalisation rumours, showing Trump actively engaged in presidential duties and national security matters from the White House.
