Liz Truss Accuses Keir Starmer of Appeasing Islamists in CPAC Rant
Truss Accuses Starmer of Appeasing Islamists at CPAC

Former Prime Minister Liz Truss has launched a scathing attack on current Labour leader Keir Starmer, accusing him of "batting for the other side" in the ongoing Iran conflict during a fiery speech at a pro-Trump conference in Texas.

Truss Represents Britain at CPAC International Conference

The failed former Prime Minister appeared at the CPAC International Conference, a fringe event preceding the larger MAGA gathering scheduled for Dallas this week. In her controversial remarks, Truss claimed Britain is currently under "socialist rule" and accused the Labour government of actively appeasing Islamist elements within the country.

Accusations About Labour's Voter Base

Truss specifically alleged that Labour maintains an "islamist" voter base, suggesting this demographic influences the government's foreign policy decisions. She pointed to Starmer's reluctance to join former President Donald Trump's proposed military actions in the Middle East as evidence of this alleged appeasement strategy.

"The situation in Britain is Britain is under socialist rule," Truss declared during her speech. "And it's not just socialist rule. We've actually got a government who wants to appease the islamists."

She continued with her criticism: "That's why they sat on the fence over Iran. That's why they failed to offer up bases to be used in the strikes against this appalling regime, because they are concerned about what's going on with their voter base. Their islamist voter base in Britain."

Direct Criticism of Starmer's Leadership

The former Conservative leader didn't mince words when assessing Starmer's approach to international conflicts. "We have a prime minister now who does not know what side he's on," Truss asserted. "In fact, you might say he's batting for the other side."

Beyond foreign policy, Truss also criticized Britain's energy strategy, complaining at length about the government's focus on renewable energy sources rather than pursuing fracking and expanded drilling operations in the North Sea.

Truss Becomes CPAC Regular

This appearance marks Truss's third consecutive year participating in America's largest right-wing convention, where she has become something of a regular fixture. The event typically attracts numerous senior members of the Trump administration and prominent conservative figures.

Last year's memorable CPAC gathering in Washington DC featured billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk wielding a chainsaw on stage, highlighting the conference's theatrical nature. While former President Trump has attended and spoken at the conference annually for the past decade, his participation in Saturday's keynote address remains unconfirmed.

Future Speaking Engagements

Truss is scheduled to speak again on Friday as part of a panel discussion titled "The Future of Europe." The same day's agenda includes appearances by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, ICE chief Tom Homan, former Superman actor Dean Cain, and controversial YouTuber Nick Shirley, who focuses on alleged fraud investigations.

The former Prime Minister's comments have sparked immediate controversy, with critics accusing her of inflammatory rhetoric and questionable claims about Britain's political landscape and voter demographics.
