A savvy shopper has shared a simple trick to secure significant discounts at B&M, claiming the hack can reduce prices by up to 80 per cent. The tip involves using the retailer's free app to scan items in-store and uncover hidden sale prices that may not be displayed on the shelf.
TikTok user Two. islam posted a video demonstrating the method, stating that many products in his trolley were marked down by 50 to 80 per cent. He revealed that a former B&M employee told him the store rarely updates sale prices on items, meaning the app often shows lower prices than those on the shelf.
In the video, he scanned a homeware air fryer priced at £48 on the shelf but reduced to £30 on the app. Other examples included a £1 candle available for 25p and a £10 plant halved in price. After scanning every item, he claimed his total at the till was £280, but after showing the cashier the app prices, the bill was reduced to just over £150.
The clip went viral over the weekend, sparking thousands of comments. The official B&M Instagram account responded with a shushing emoji. Some users claimed they had been using the hack for years, while a former employee confirmed its validity. However, one shopper expressed caution, noting that some stores may not honour the app prices.
Two. islam advised that if the sale price does not reflect at the till, shoppers should scan the item on the app in front of the cashier to request a price adjustment. The hack has prompted many to download the app, with one customer reporting garden cushions priced at £12 each scanning at £3 at the till.
