Congressman Makes Explosive Claims About NASA UFO Cover-Up
A prominent US lawmaker has launched startling accusations against NASA, claiming the space agency is deliberately misleading the public about unidentified flying objects and possesses classified files on extraterrestrial craft. Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett, who serves on the House Oversight Committee that has examined UFO reports, made these explosive statements during a television appearance this week.
Allegations of Systematic Deception
During an interview on One America News on Tuesday, Burchett asserted he has participated in meetings with NASA officials where they acknowledged studying UFO phenomena. "The lying that goes on in these departments," Burchett declared. "NASA saying, 'We don't have any of this' or 'We haven't studied any of this.' I have been in meetings with them, or they've told me they studied it and that they have stuff that is classified that they can't share with the public."
The congressman expressed particular concern about why more insiders haven't come forward with information, suggesting they fear severe consequences. "I think they're afraid of being disappeared… I think being murdered is what they're afraid of. I think some of them truly are because of things they've seen," Burchett stated, highlighting what he perceives as a dangerous environment surrounding UFO disclosure.
NASA's Official Response and Broader Context
When contacted for comment by Daily Mail, NASA responded by directing attention to a social media post from press secretary Bethany Stevens. The statement emphasized: "We continue to make all NASA data publicly available and welcome public participation using our data." The agency referenced previous comments from NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, who acknowledged encountering unexplained phenomena during his tenure but clarified these related more to budgetary concerns than extraterrestrial life.
Burchett's allegations extend beyond NASA to include the Pentagon, which he accuses of engaging in its own cover-up operations. The lawmaker claims the Department of Defense possesses "non-human" technology and has criticized the department's financial management while allegedly spending resources on these matters. During an appearance on the Matt Gaetz Show, Burchett elaborated: "I think it is a big cover-up. I think there are too many directions it is going."
Political Dimensions and Recent Developments
The congressman revealed he recently spoke with former President Donald Trump about UFO transparency, urging him to "be forthcoming and bring this stuff out." Burchett described encountering what he called "arrogance" among officials who believe the public cannot handle such information. When questioned about Trump's response, Burchett noted the former president was preoccupied with other matters but didn't dismiss the concern.
This controversy unfolds against a backdrop of significant government activity regarding unidentified aerial phenomena. On February 19, Trump ordered the release of all government files related to UFOs and extraterrestrial life. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth provided an update several days later, confirming: "We've got our people working on it right now. We're digging in. We're going to be in full compliance with that executive order." Hegseth declined to specify a timeline for complete disclosure but expressed eagerness to provide information.
Institutional Framework for Disclosure
Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, who leads the House Oversight Committee's task force on declassifying secret UAP records, announced that all forthcoming documents will be hosted on the US National Archives website. This development coincides with the White House's recent registration of the domain "aliens.gov," which appeared in the government's official registry maintained by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
While the website remains inactive, its registration under the White House Office confirms it as a legitimate federal web address. The purpose of this domain has not been publicly disclosed, fueling speculation about potential official communication channels regarding extraterrestrial matters. These institutional moves suggest growing governmental attention to UFO phenomena, even as officials like Burchett allege ongoing concealment within agencies like NASA.
Burchett has long advocated for greater transparency regarding UFOs, previously suggesting that "non-human intelligences" might operate from multiple underwater bases along US coastlines. His latest comments represent some of the most direct accusations against NASA from a sitting member of Congress, raising questions about what classified information might exist and when—or if—it will ever reach public scrutiny.
