First Dates Star Shares Her One Regret About Meeting Husband

A former contestant on Channel 4's First Dates has revealed her one regret about meeting her husband on the show. Fran Garrett-Levy, who appeared in the eighth series, was paired with office broker Will and the couple married in 2021.

Speaking to Smooth Spins Casino, Fran admitted that she was unaware of the hidden cameras during filming. 'You don't know that you're being filmed because you don't know where the cameras are,' she said. 'They're all quite dotted around the place.'

Fran also recalled a moment during a Christmas special that she regrets. 'Will had said something to me, 'Oh, we can look back at something in the next 60 years.' And I think I made a face. I remember one of the comments reading afterwards online which said, 'Oh, she doesn't look very happy about that.' But I didn't mean it like that.'

Despite the nerves, Fran praised the show's maître d' Fred Sirieix, describing him as 'lovely' and 'really, really nice'. She also had kind words for bartender Merlin Griffiths, calling him 'the nicest guy actually'.

Fran and Will have returned to the First Dates restaurant for two festive specials and during the Covid-19 lockdown. She remains in contact with other couples from the programme.
