Trump Dismisses Safety Concerns for Former Ally

Former President Donald Trump has publicly claimed that Marjorie Taylor Greene's life is not in danger, despite the Georgia Republican congresswoman revealing she has received a pipe bomb threat. The remarks came during a press interaction on Monday 17 November 2025, where Trump initially appeared not to recognise who was being discussed.

When a reporter asked Trump about the potential danger to Greene's life, he responded, "Her life is in danger? Who's that?" After being reminded it was Marjorie Taylor Greene, Trump retorted, "Marjorie 'Traitor' Greene. I don't think her life is in danger. Frankly, I don't think anybody cares about her."

Escalating Tensions Over Epstein Files

The public falling-out stems from Greene's vocal demands for the full release of the Epstein files, a position that has put her at odds with the former president. Trump has labelled Greene a "traitor" to the MAGA movement for her stance, creating a significant rift with one of his most zealous former supporters from the 2024 election cycle.

Greene has reported receiving serious threats, including "hoax pizza deliveries" at her home and family members' residences, and a specific pipe bomb threat made at her construction company's office. In a blistering post on X, she accused Trump of putting "blood in the water" with his remarks.

"President Trump's unwarranted and vicious attacks against me were a dog whistle to dangerous radicals that could lead to serious attacks on me and my family," Greene stated. She expressed fear that the situation could create a "feeding frenzy" among critics and potentially lead to a "harmful or even deadly outcome."

Political Fallout and Reversed Position

The feud has spilled over to Trump's Truth Social platform, where he asserted that "she is the cause of all of her own problems." He continued his attacks, writing, "Wacky Marjorie 'Traitor' Brown (Remember, Green turns to Brown where there is ROT involved!) is working overtime to try and portray herself as a victim."

Despite previously attempting to block the release of the Epstein documents, which he called a "Democrat Hoax," Trump has now performed a complete reversal. In a recent social media post, he instructed Republicans to vote in favour of releasing the Epstein files, stating "we have nothing to hide, and it's time to move on from this Democrat Hoax."

The timing is particularly significant, with the House of Representatives preparing to vote on the matter. Greene has emphasised that Trump's attacks coincide "days before we take the vote on releasing the Epstein files," suggesting a strategic element to the public dispute.
