Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has suggested that Marcus Rashford's future remains uncertain despite his successful loan spell at Barcelona, with 'nothing guaranteed' over a permanent transfer.
The Catalan club have an option to buy the England international for £30million, with £25million guaranteed and a further £5million in add-ons. This follows a previous loan to Aston Villa, where a £40million option was not taken up after Villa missed out on Champions League football.
Rashford has impressed in Spain, scoring three goals and providing five assists in ten Champions League and La Liga appearances, leading to reports that Barcelona are keen to make the move permanent. Brown, however, believes a return to Old Trafford cannot be ruled out.
Speaking to 10bet Casino, Brown said: 'He's there for the season, and then nothing is guaranteed... Would I bring him back? I can't say for sure, because it depends on what the manager wants next season.'
The former defender added that Rashford is 'loving life in Barcelona' and hopes his form continues, but stressed that any decision would be down to the player and the incoming Manchester United manager.
