A Sky Sports camera operator's moment of distraction during a live Formula 1 broadcast has captured widespread attention on social media. The incident occurred on Saturday in Miami as the 2026 season resumed after cancellations of races in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain due to the ongoing Middle East crisis.
Celebrity-Filled Miami Event
The Miami Grand Prix attracts a multitude of celebrities and influencers who dress to impress across the three-day event. Sky's coverage took an unexpected turn when the camera awkwardly panned to a brunette woman in a black crop top walking through the paddock while former F1 driver Jenson Button was delivering analysis to colleagues Simon Lazenby and Naomi Schiff. As the woman exited the frame, the camera then shifted to a McLaren mechanic, who appeared to react with a stunned expression.
Social Media Frenzy
The clip has amassed thousands of views online, with fans speculating that the woman is Croatian model Ivana Knoll, famously dubbed the 'world's sexiest football fan'. Knoll, 33, rose to prominence during the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where she cheered on her national team from the stands. She now boasts 2.8 million followers on Instagram.
Knoll resides in Miami and is a regular attendee at the Florida race, having been present at every edition since its addition to the F1 calendar in 2022. In addition to her modeling career, she works as a DJ and faced criticism for her revealing attire at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Knoll's Perspective
In a 2024 interview with the Daily Mail, Knoll addressed the criticism: 'There is good and bad and some things are blessings and some are lessons. I am the type of person who doesn't care about other people's opinions anyway. But definitely my career changed a lot in an amazing way (after Qatar) and it helped me to get back to my biggest love which is music.'
She noted that the recognition from the World Cup led to DJ invitations at high-profile events like Formula 1 and in Las Vegas. 'Nobody made me, nobody can break me. I choose the harder way for my career not to sell myself or my soul and it's not easy but I am making it.' Knoll described her social media following, including Instagram and other platforms, as 'mind blowing'.
