Joy Behar, co-host of The View, has launched a fierce attack on New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart after he publicly endorsed Donald Trump. During Tuesday's episode, Behar, 83, described Dart's support for the former president as 'the definition of stupidity and racist'.
Dart, 23, introduced Trump at a rally in Suffern, New York, on Friday, leading the crowd in a Giants chant before praising the president. Behar criticised Dart for backing a candidate she accused of a history of discrimination, referencing housing discrimination in the 1970s, attacks on DEI initiatives, and sharing images of the Obamas as apes.
Behar pointed out that more than half of NFL players are Black, adding: 'That is just the definition of stupidity and racist in my opinion.' She later quipped: 'Maybe he needs a little extra padding.' Fellow panelists Whoopi Goldberg and Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that Dart was entitled to his opinion as an American.
Dart, who completed his rookie season with the Giants last fall, had not previously expressed political views. At the rally, Trump praised Dart as a 'future Hall of Fame-er' and a 'beautiful guy' before launching into a rant against transgender athletes.
The endorsement also drew criticism from Dart's teammate, linebacker Abdul Carter, who wrote on X: 'What we doing man?' Carter initially thought a video of the rally was generated by AI. Dart did not respond to requests for comment.
