A controversial social media influencer known as Clavicular has been charged in Florida after a livestream showed him shooting an apparently dead alligator in the Everglades. Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, faces a misdemeanour charge of unlawfully discharging a firearm in a public place or residential property, according to legal documents obtained by local media.
The charge carries a potential fine of $1,000 and possible jail time or probation. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it was aware of the video and was investigating, though it did not name Peters.
Peters' attorney told People that his client acted on the instructions of a licensed airboat guide and that no animals or people were harmed. Two other individuals, Andrew Morales and Yabdiel Anibal Cotto Torres, have also been charged in connection with the incident.
Clavicular is known for 'looksmaxxing', a practice of maximising physical attractiveness through extreme measures. He has been involved in several controversies, including a livestream of an apparent hit-and-run and chanting anti-Semitic lyrics with influencer Andrew Tate. In March, he was arrested on battery charges related to an alleged fight instigated between his girlfriend and another woman.
