Davina McCall, the 57-year-old TV presenter, has secretly married her celebrity hairstylist partner Michael Douglas, 49, in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends. The couple have been together for over seven years, having first met on the set of Big Brother in the early 2000s when Douglas styled her hair.
Douglas proposed this summer while the pair were walking near their favourite beach in Ibiza. McCall, who was wearing cowboy boots, said yes immediately. Friends told the Daily Mail that recent health issues, including McCall's surgery to remove a benign brain tumour last November and her recent breast cancer diagnosis, prompted their decision to marry.
This is McCall's third marriage. Her first marriage to shop manager Andrew Legett in 1997 lasted only three months. She has rarely spoken about it, telling The Mirror in 2006, "I fell madly in love, but it was wrong, so I got out quick."
In 2000, she married Matthew Robertson, a fellow presenter, after meeting him while walking her dog on Clapham Common. They had three children together—Holly, Tilly, and Chester—before separating in 2017 after 17 years together.
Before her presenting career, McCall briefly dated guitarist Eric Clapton, whom she credits with helping her overcome addiction. She made a demo tape with him but did not get a record deal, instead landing a role on MTV's Most Wanted in 1992.
