Republican Lawmaker's Lavish Campaign Spending Unveiled

Florida Republican Representative Cory Mills stands accused of channelling thousands of dollars from campaign contributions towards an extravagant lifestyle, according to a detailed review of his political finance records. The 45-year-old congressman allegedly spent nearly $80,000 between February 2023 and December 2024 on private jet charters, luxury hotel stays, and visits to casinos.

Luxury Hotels and Private Jets Funded by Donations

An investigation by The Washington Examiner uncovered that Mills's campaign made a payment of $5,711 to The Fairmont Hotel in Puerto Rico in May 2024. This five-star resort, situated on Isla Verde Beach, features an on-site casino, multiple swimming pools, bars, and a luxury spa. The purpose of Mills's visit to Puerto Rico remains unclear, with his office yet to provide clarification.

Back in his home state of Florida, the congressman used campaign funds at several premium establishments including:

  • The Fountainbleau Hotel in Miami Beach
  • The Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach
  • The Ben Hotel in West Palm Beach
  • The Breakers Hotel in Boynton Beach
  • The Resort at Longboat Key

Further expenditures revealed two trips to The Venetian hotel in Las Vegas during October and November 2024, costing $1,700. Most notably, Mills allocated approximately $30,000 to private aircraft companies including Million Air Austin, Airgate Aviation, and Luxury Aircraft LLC. An additional $7,000 was spent on limousine services.

Growing List of Scandals and Ethics Investigation

This financial controversy arrives alongside other serious allegations against the Republican representative. Last week, NOTUS reported that Mills was allegedly discovered with sex workers during a stop in Tbilisi, Georgia, while en route to Afghanistan for a sensitive mission in 2021. The incident reportedly caused his team to abandon him over security concerns, forcing Mills to continue the mission alone.

The congressman faces multiple additional controversies including:

  • Allegations of domestic abuse
  • Claims he threatened to release revenge porn of an ex-girlfriend
  • Stolen valor accusations regarding his Bronze Star award
  • Revelations about his marriage in a mosque by a man linked to the 9/11 hijackers

Fellow conservative Representative Nancy Mace has called for Republican leadership to strip Mills of his committee assignments following the emergence of explicit text messages he allegedly sent to his 28-year-old girlfriend while still married. The House Ethics Committee has now opened a formal investigation into Mills concerning campaign finance issues and allegations of sexual misconduct.

Mills, who is currently undergoing divorce proceedings and has been romantically linked to Washington DC marketing manager Sarah Raviani, has not issued public statements denying these allegations. A Florida judge recently issued a restraining order against him after his ex-girlfriend claimed he threatened to release nude images of her.
