FBI Director Under Fire for Security Detail Assigned to Girlfriend

FBI Director Kash Patel is facing serious allegations of abusing his power after it was revealed he assigned an elite SWAT team to provide security for his country singer girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins. The 45-year-old director's relationship with the 27-year-old performer has already been under scrutiny since it emerged he used a government jet to attend one of her concerts.

An FBI spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Mail that Wilkins has been provided with a protective detail due to facing hundreds of credible death threats connected to her three-year relationship with Director Patel. The spokesperson stated, 'Ms. Wilkins is receiving a protective detail because she has faced hundreds of credible death threats related to her relationship with Director Patel, whom she has been dating for three years. Out of respect for her safety, we will not be providing additional details.'

Internal Criticism and Security Concerns

According to reports from MS NOW, the protection involves elite FBI agents who typically work with the Nashville office's SWAT team. This level of security has raised eyebrows within the agency, with veterans pointing out that girlfriends and spouses of officials do not normally receive such extensive protection.

Helen Wray, the wife of former FBI Director Christopher Wray, confirmed she only received security when traveling with her husband. Critics argue that Wilkins doesn't face threats justifying this level of attention and that these valuable agents are being diverted from responding to more serious potential crimes.

Former senior FBI agent Christopher O'Leary told MS Now, 'There is no legitimate justification for this. This is a clear abuse of position and misuse of government resources.' He further noted that Wilkins is not Patel's spouse and doesn't live in the same house or city, while individuals under threat from entities like Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were losing their security details.

Online Abuse and Legal Battles

Wilkins has publicly shared some of the severe online abuse she has received. She posted a selection of disturbing messages to X on Monday, captioned 'A morning in my DMs.' The comments included threats such as 'you should pray to christ and end your life!' and 'You need to touch a bullet.' Another message stated, 'Someone needs to kidnap her.'

The country singer has also been forced to confront bizarre conspiracy theories alleging she is a Mossad agent. She has vehemently denied these accusations and has taken legal action against two right-wing commentators, Samuel Parker and Elijah Schaffer, for promoting what her lawyers call the 'insidious assertion' that she acts as a 'honeypot' to compromise the FBI director.

Her legal complaint states that Wilkins 'is a Christian, American-born, United States citizen, and is unaffiliated with any intelligence agency, much less the government of Israel.' Her lawyers confirmed she has never even visited Israel.

When contacted for comment, the White House expressed support for Patel without directly addressing the situation with Wilkins. White House representative Abigail Jackson told the Daily Mail, 'FBI Director Patel is restoring integrity to the FBI and doing an excellent job implementing the President’s agenda.'

Patel himself has fiercely defended his partner, previously writing, 'The disgustingly baseless attacks against Alexis - a true patriot and the woman I'm proud to call my partner in life - are beyond pathetic.' He emphasised that his 'love of family will always be my cornerstone,' signalling his unwavering support for Wilkins amidst the growing controversy.
