Florida Teacher Accused of Grooming Teen Student After Dating Her Mother

A Florida teacher, heavily tattooed, allegedly confessed to his girlfriend that he only dated her to gain access to her 13-year-old daughter, according to police reports. Daniel Le Lievre, aged 41, was arrested on Monday at his residence in Oviedo, located approximately 25 minutes from Orlando. The arrest followed allegations that he groomed and sexually assaulted a teenage student.

Twisted Relationship and Alleged Assault

After dating the girl's mother for around four months, Le Lievre reportedly admitted that his relationship with the woman was solely a means to "get closer" to the teenager. The educator, who has two daughters of his own, began dating the mother in October 2023. During this period, he shifted nearly all his attention toward the adolescent, as detailed in a police report obtained by the Daily Mail.

The mother informed an Oviedo Police Department detective on February 2, 2026, that Le Lievre frequently invited her and her daughter to stay overnight at his home. This included visits during the extended winter break of the 2023-2024 school year. On one occasion, before Christmas Day in 2023, the girl alleged that Le Lievre instructed her to remove her clothes while she used the bathroom late at night.

Once she was undressed, Le Lievre allegedly positioned himself on top of her on the bathroom floor and engaged in sexual intercourse for about ten minutes. The teen recalled that neither spoke during the encounter, but afterward, he warned her "not to tell anyone what happened."

Pattern of Inappropriate Conduct

Le Lievre's behavior extended beyond the alleged assault. He reportedly spent "alone time" with the girl in his classroom at various hours and maintained a drawer in his desk containing her perfume and a blanket. It was "common" for him to hold her hand and call her at all hours, even during a family vacation at Disney Springs, where the mother caught them holding hands.

In a further attempt to manipulate the situation, Le Lievre opened a bank account in the student's name, depositing money into it. He also accessed her school accounts without her mother's knowledge or consent, altering her schedule to place her in another of his classes. Additionally, he created two separate websites for secret communication and taught her Morse Code to enable undetected exchanges.

To conceal his actions, Le Lievre used "throw away" email addresses and instructed the girl to delete their conversations. When arrested, he declined to speak with police without legal representation.

Prior Investigations and School Response

Le Lievre had previously been investigated by the school board on two occasions in 2024 for allegations of inappropriate conduct. Both investigations concluded that he violated policies related to "student abuse, abandonment and neglect" and "relationships with students." It remains unclear if these instances involved the same victim.

A spokesperson for the Seminole County school board confirmed that Le Lievre was a teacher at Tuskawilla Middle School from August 2022 to May 2024. He was placed on administrative leave on April 26, 2024, due to allegations of inappropriate communications and relations with a minor, and did not return to the classroom. Le Lievre resigned in lieu of termination and is ineligible for rehire.

The school board emphasized, "The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and any type of behavior that undermines that safety will not be tolerated at Seminole County Public Schools."

Legal Charges and Current Status

Le Lievre has been charged with custodial sexual battery and sex offense by an authority figure soliciting a romantic relationship with a student. He is currently held without bond, as stated in the police report. The Daily Mail has reached out to the Oviedo Police Department for further comment on the case.
