The mug shot of Michelle Dick, the alleged stalker of Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, has been released following her arrest for a horrifying assault using an unknown substance. Dick, aged 55, was taken into custody on Saturday night in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is currently detained at Allen County Jail, awaiting extradition to California, as confirmed by official booking records.
Multiple Felony Charges Filed
Dick is accused of throwing an unidentified substance on Buckingham, 76, during an incident on March 25 in Santa Monica, California. She now faces a total of seven felony counts, including making criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon involving a motor vehicle, and felony vandalism, according to legal documents reviewed by the Daily Mail. Additionally, she has been charged with stalking Buckingham and another individual referred to as Stephanie N. in court filings.
History of Harassment and Legal Issues
This shocking assault occurred just over a year after Buckingham was granted a permanent restraining order against Dick, with authorities noting she has been harassing the musician since 2021. Court documents reveal that Dick allegedly began plaguing Buckingham's wife with phone calls in 2021, claiming to be his biological daughter and threatening to kill him and his family.
Buckingham testified that Dick repeatedly turned up at his residence and even made a fake 911 call, resulting in police descending on his property while he slept and placing him in handcuffs. Dick has an extensive criminal history prior to these incidents, including a 2016 arrest for DUI and battering a peace officer in Alameda County, California, where she ultimately pled no contest to driving with excessive blood alcohol.
Restraining Order and Continued Harassment
Buckingham's current five-year restraining order against Dick, which expires in December 2029, is an extension of a temporary order that lapsed in December 2024. The order mandates that Dick remain 100 yards away from Buckingham, his wife Kristen, and their son William, and prohibits any contact or harassment.
Despite this legal protection, Dick allegedly continued her campaign of terror. In September 2024, she reportedly left collages featuring pictures of Buckingham and his wife at their homes, and in November 2024, police responded to another false 911 call traced to her phone. Buckingham expressed fear in court declarations that without restraint, Dick's conduct could escalate into physical danger for his family.
Recent Developments and Family Response
Following the recent attack, Dick gave an interview to KTLA, reiterating her claim that Buckingham is her birth father and admitting she had approached him in the week before the assault. Legal documents show authorities attempted unsuccessfully to serve her with the restraining order in the Bay Area in December 2025.
In the aftermath of the attack, Buckingham's friends and family have rallied around him. His daughter Leelee Welles Buckingham was seen arriving at his Brentwood home, accompanied by her boyfriend, while security personnel from Lions 4 Security were also present. The case continues to unfold as Dick awaits extradition to California to face the felony charges.
