Teyana Taylor's Fashion Statement in New York After BAFTA Dominance
Teyana Taylor made a bold fashion statement as she braved a New York snow blizzard, stepping out in a striking leather ensemble and quirky gold glasses. This appearance came hot on the heels of the BAFTA awards, where the critically acclaimed action film One Battle After Another, starring the 35-year-old singer and actress, dominated the ceremony with six wins.
BAFTA Success and Film Details
At the BAFTAs held at London's Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, One Battle After Another received a record 14 nominations and emerged victorious in key categories. The film secured awards for Best Film, Best Director, Adapted Screenplay, Supporting Actor, Cinematography, and Editing. Producer Sarah Murphy, accepting the Best Film award, expressed heartfelt sentiments, saying, 'We wish more than anything that our producing partner Adam Somner could be here to accept this on behalf of us on his home turf.'
Director and producer Paul Thomas Anderson added, 'Thank you for rewarding our film in the way that you have, it's just a tremendous honour. I'm well aware of the other films that share this. Anybody that says movies aren't any good any more they can piss off because this is just a great f*****g year.' He mentioned plans to find a bar to celebrate the achievement.
The film features an ex-revolutionary, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, who is forced back into his old lifestyle when he and his daughter are pursued by a crooked military officer, portrayed by Sean Penn.
Teyana Taylor's Eye-Catching Outfit
Now back in the United States, Teyana Taylor commanded attention as she arrived at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She wrapped up in a black roll neck jumper layered over a bold black leather jacket, matching trousers, and coordinated heels. However, it was her accessories that truly caught the eye: a pair of quirky gold lash glasses and chunky matching drop earrings.
Despite missing out on a Supporting Actress award at the BAFTAs, Teyana completed her ensemble with a large chain gold bracelet and two chunky rings, showcasing her unique style amidst the snowy conditions.
Other BAFTA Highlights and Afterparty
Following One Battle After Another's six wins, other films like Sinners, Frankenstein, and I Swear each secured three awards, while Hamnet won two. The biggest disappointment of the evening was the highly acclaimed ping pong drama Marty Supreme, which entered with 11 nominations but left empty-handed. Timothee Chalamet, tipped as a favourite for his role in Marty Supreme, lost the award to Robert Aramayo of I Swear.
After the ceremony, Teyana Taylor and co-star Chase Infiniti attended the Soho House Kettner's afterparty. Teyana wrapped up in a full-length shaggy faux fur coat, paired with black leather boots and Tiffany & Co. jewellery. Meanwhile, Chase, 25, looked glamorous in a stunning white strapless dress with a high leg split, featuring an eye-catching silver ornamental piece at the waist, a matching white scarf, silver heels, and De Beers jewellery.
The actresses appeared in good spirits as they posed for photos together alongside director Paul Thomas Anderson, and Teyana was all smiles posing with Peter Sarsgaard at the event.
