Golden Bachelorette Couple Addresses Future Living Arrangements and Wedding Timeline
In a candid Instagram Q&A session on Monday, Golden Bachelorette stars Joan Vassos and her fiancé Chock Chapple opened up about their current living situation and plans for marriage. The pair, who became engaged during the show's November 2024 finale, revealed they do not yet live together and are targeting a 2027 wedding date.
Living Apart with Future 'Love Shack' Plans
Vassos, aged 63, explained that moving in together is on the horizon but not immediate. 'We will move in together one day,' she stated, noting that selecting a location and managing busy work and travel schedules are key factors. 'We haven’t figured out the city yet,' Vassos shared, adding a unique twist to their domestic plans. 'When I think about this question, I think it probably won’t be where I live. It probably won’t be where you live, [Chock]. I think we will probably keep our houses and we’ll have a love shack someplace.'
The couple emphasized their strong connection despite the distance, with Vassos highlighting, 'We talk every day' and 'see each other a lot.' Both have children from previous relationships; Vassos has four adult children with her late husband, while Chapple, 62, has two with his ex-wife.
Wedding Delayed to Avoid Family Conflicts
Chapple initiated the discussion on marriage timing by stressing that family remains their top priority. 'In 2025, Joan had a big wedding for her oldest son, Nick. And then she’s got another one getting married this year, so we’ve elected to not compete with them,' he explained. This thoughtful approach led to a projected wedding year of 2027. Chapple elaborated, 'That’s what I’m saying, let them have their year. So you might look for something in 2027.'
Vassos confirmed this timeline, saying, 'Yeah, ’27. Hopefully nobody else will get married, but I think you have a son who possibly could, so we’ll see!' She further reasoned, 'We have grown kids and they just happen to be falling into that part of their lives too. We'll get married sometime when our kids aren't getting married.'
Blended Family Dynamics and No-Rush Philosophy
The couple described blending their families as remarkably smooth. Vassos noted, 'We have grown kids, so they’ve liked making friends with each other. Our girls get along great. Our boys get along great,' with Chapple agreeing, 'They all get along great, they do. We're lucky.' Vassos echoed this sentiment, stating, 'We got really lucky we didn’t have to really merge families. They just are friends, so it was super easy.'
In a previous interview with the Daily Mail in November 2025, Vassos elaborated on their relaxed approach to marriage. 'I know we're not having babies, we're not doing anything major. And we are really happy the way we are right now,' she said. 'We travel and we just get to do all the fun things, and I mean, you know, marriage is meaningful. I believe in it. I just don't think that we need to do it in any rush. We [will] just do it when it's comfortable for us.'
Recently, the couple enjoyed a romantic Valentine's Day retreat in Punta Cana, with Vassos sharing photos on Instagram to her 203,000 followers. She captioned the post, 'Second Valentine's Day with @chockchapple. Thank you for a beautiful time in Punta Cana...I love any time I get to share with you.'
