Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated on Sunday that the accused gunman who attempted to breach the ballroom at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is believed to have been targeting members of the Trump administration.

Blanche revealed that investigators believe the suspect traveled by train from California to Chicago, then onward to Washington, D.C. He checked into the hotel where the prestigious event was held on Saturday night before the incident. President Donald Trump was quickly escorted off the stage when gunshots were heard. The 31-year-old suspect is now in custody and faces charges.
Blanche made these remarks during an interview on NBC's Meet the Press, providing further insight into the investigation.
