Katie Price Reveals Son Harvey's Weight Loss Journey and Adult Care Move
Katie Price: Harvey's Weight Loss Injections and Care Move

Katie Price has publicly confirmed that her son Harvey will be embarking on a significant weight management programme involving medical injections as he makes the important transition from college education to adult residential care. The former glamour model and television personality shared these intimate family developments in a recent vlog documenting this major life change for her 23-year-old son.

A New Chapter Begins

During the emotional video recording, Katie explained that Harvey's move represents a substantial step forward in his independence and development. While driving to collect Harvey from what was his college, the mother-of-five revealed her mixed feelings about this transition period.

"He's an adult, he's 23, so he's going to be living in a house with other adults and obviously he'll have carers there," Katie shared candidly. "I'm really nervous about it although we've been prepping Harvey for the move and he wants to move, he doesn't want to be at college anymore at all, and he loves the fact he'll be nearer to me, which makes a huge difference."

Proximity and Quality Time

The new residential arrangement will see Harvey living just a twenty-minute walk from his mother's home, allowing for more frequent and spontaneous visits. Katie expressed genuine excitement about being able to spend increased quality time with her son once he settles into his new routine and environment.

"Things are definitely going to change for Harvey when we move cuz although he's moving to adult residential, he's also going to be starting the Mounjaro where we can keep an eye on it," Katie revealed about the dual developments in her son's life. "So he'll be losing weight. It's just a completely different life away from college."

Medical Intervention and Dietary Management

The weight loss injection Mounjaro will be administered under close medical supervision as part of a comprehensive health management plan. This pharmaceutical intervention comes after previous attempts at weight management through dietary adjustments alone.

During the vlog's celebratory segment marking Harvey's college completion, Katie met with the chef who will be working at Harvey's new residential home. Their conversation highlighted the importance of coordinated care between medical treatment and nutritional planning.

"You will get sick to death of pasta. But he's going on the Mounjaro," Katie joked during the exchange. "It's taken me ages to get him on it. So they're gonna have to do a plan with him what he eats because apparently he needs the care when he's on it."

Understanding Prader-Willi Syndrome

Katie has been transparent about Harvey's health challenges throughout his life. Her son lives with Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic condition affecting approximately 2,000 people in the United Kingdom. This complex disorder causes excessive appetite and significant weight gain difficulties, alongside autism and ADHD diagnoses.

The syndrome presents particular challenges for weight management, as those affected experience constant hunger and a slowed metabolism. This explains why medical intervention has become necessary despite previous dietary efforts.

Previous Weight Management Efforts

On her podcast last year, Katie explained that medical professionals had initially wanted to explore whether Harvey could achieve weight loss through dietary modifications before considering pharmaceutical options. By November 2025, she reported some progress, noting: "He's lost a stone and a half. I can notice it on his chest, but not the belly yet."

However, the transition to Mounjaro injections represents a new phase in Harvey's health journey, combining medical treatment with the structured support of residential care.

Emotional Transition

When Katie collected Harvey from college, she asked about his feelings regarding the move. Harvey expressed happiness about progressing to this new chapter while acknowledging sadness about leaving people behind. This emotional complexity reflects the significant nature of this life transition for both mother and son.

The residential care facility's chef reassured Katie about their coordinated approach to Harvey's dietary needs, mentioning their work with a dietician. Katie interrupted to emphasize Harvey's food-focused thinking patterns, stating: "He's so obsessed with – everything is about what time it's food. Food food. It's all about food."

This comprehensive approach combining medical treatment, nutritional planning, and residential support represents a holistic strategy for managing Harvey's health needs as he enters adulthood.
