From Porter to the Face of the Hospital

Trisha Corfield's journey at Liverpool Women's Hospital began in 2013. Hailing from Stockbridge Village, she initially worked as a domestic before breaking barriers by becoming the hospital's first female porter—a role she held with pride for a decade.

In January 2023, she achieved her professional aspiration, moving to the main reception desk. In a hospital video, she expressed her joy: "I've been on main reception since January and absolutely love it. I seem to get on with every person that walks through the door."

A hospital spokesperson previously celebrated her contribution, noting: "Trisha is the warm, welcoming, kind face you see when you enter Liverpool Women's. She personifies the warmth that Liverpool is known for."

Royal Recognition and a Life of Service

In recognition of her dedicated service, the hospital nominated Trisha to attend the Buckingham Palace Royal Garden Party in September 2022, following the coronation of King Charles III. Reflecting on the experience, she described it as "phenomenal, just amazing," particularly moved by the moment "King Charles came on the balcony."

Her niece Ellie remembered her as a person who "would do anything for anyone," detailing how Trisha cared for everyone from newborn babies to those who had passed away. "As soon as anybody she knew had a baby in the women's hospital, she'd be right there making sure they were OK," Ellie shared.

A Legacy of Warmth and Compassion

Trisha Corfield is survived by her devoted partner Sarsy, her three brothers, her son, daughter, and numerous grandchildren. Described as "very bubbly" and someone who "loved to dance and she loved her job," her absence will be deeply felt.

Ellie poignantly added: "She really idolised her brothers... She really became like their mum. A lot of people know her. She will have left a hole in so many hearts."

The Liverpool Women's Hospital has lost not just a valued employee, but a cherished member of its family whose kindness and dedication touched countless lives.
