Reality star Jodie Marsh has spoken of her devastation after a fire at her Essex farm killed two marmosets she was hand-rearing. The blaze broke out at Fripps Farm in Uttlesford on Saturday, with firefighters called to the scene at 4.56pm.
In an emotional video on Instagram Stories, Marsh said she was 'broken beyond belief' by the loss of the baby monkeys, which she had been caring for after their mother died giving birth. 'I've given up my whole life for them, and those babies meant everything to me,' she said.
The fire, which started in an upstairs bedroom, was deemed accidental and caused by an electrical item, according to Essex County Fire and Rescue Service. Crews managed to prevent the flames from spreading further.
Marsh, 47, said she does not care about damage to her property, only the loss of the animals. She added that she plans to move 'far, far away' following the incident. The farm is home to hundreds of rescued animals, including emus, llamas, alpacas, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, and deer.
The former glamour model says she spends £25,000 a month maintaining the sanctuary, supported by income from social media and OnlyFans. However, the farm has faced criticism from animal rights campaigners who accuse Marsh of poor living conditions and buying animals under the guise of rescue—allegations she denies.
