A two-year-old boy is in a critical condition after falling from a window in Tameside. The incident occurred on Buttermere Road in Ashton-under-Lyne on Saturday evening.
Emergency Response
Emergency services rushed the child to hospital following the fall, which took place at around 5:40 pm on 23 May 2026. The toddler sustained life-threatening injuries, according to Greater Manchester Police.
Photographs from the scene show multiple ambulance crews on Buttermere Road, and an air ambulance was seen landing near Ashton-under-Lyne church.
Police Investigation
Greater Manchester Police have stated that the incident is not being treated as suspicious, and no arrests have been made. Investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a child falling from a window of a house on Buttermere Road. The child, a two-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening. No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing."
The community has been left shocked by the incident, as the boy continues to fight for his life in hospital.
