A man in his twenties has been airlifted to hospital after a terrifying encounter with a crocodile at a creek in North Queensland.
Morning Attack at Remote Location
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at approximately 8.45am on Ingham Forest Beach Road at Victoria Plantation. A witness spotted the young man in the creek and immediately alerted the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS).
Emergency Response and Injuries
Paramedics rushed to the scene and treated the victim for significant injuries. He sustained puncture wounds to his hips and legs from the crocodile attack. Initially, he was transported by road to Ingham Hospital in a stable condition for urgent assessment.
Airlift to Major Hospital
Due to the severity of his wounds, the decision was made to transfer him to a major trauma centre. The man is now being flown to Townsville Hospital by a rescue helicopter for further specialist treatment.
