White Collar Reboot Confirmed: Classic Crime Drama Returns After 10 Years
White Collar Reboot Announced, Original Cast Returning

Fans of sophisticated crime capers have reason to celebrate, as a beloved series hailed by many as one of the genre's finest is making a major comeback. White Collar, the stylish drama that originally aired from 2009 to 2014, is officially being revived, with key original cast members confirmed to return.

A Perfectly Rated Heist

The series, which has achieved an impressive 96% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, developed a devoted following over its six-season run. It followed the unconventional partnership between straight-laced FBI Agent Peter Burke, played by Tim DeKay, and effortlessly charming con artist Neal Caffrey, portrayed by Matt Bomer. Together, they tackled high-stakes white-collar crimes across New York City, blending procedural intrigue with compelling character dynamics.

The supporting cast, including Willie Garson, Marsha Thomason, and Tiffani Thiessen, became equally integral to the show's success. For those looking to revisit the original adventures or discover them for the first time, all six seasons are currently available to stream for free on Disney+ in the UK and can also be purchased via Amazon Prime.

The Reboot Gets the Green Light

The exciting confirmation came during a panel at Variety's TV Fest in June 2024, where series creator Jeff Eastin shared the news alongside stars Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, and Tiffani Thiessen. "We're gonna reboot. I'm writing the script," Eastin stated, prompting immediate enthusiasm from the original trio.

"I'm in!" exclaimed Bomer, who will reprise his role as Neal Caffrey, with DeKay and Thiessen also raising their hands to confirm their participation. DeKay praised the new script, noting, "It's a fantastic script and it answers all the questions that one would have if you watch the show. And it would introduce the show to those who haven't seen it as well."

Honouring a Lost Friend

The reboot will also pay tribute to original cast member Willie Garson, who played the fan-favourite character Mozzie and passed away in 2021. Tim DeKay revealed that the new story honours Willie "in a profound way," a sentiment echoed by Tiffani Thiessen, who said the script handled it "with such sensitivity and such heart."

While specific plot details and a release date remain under wraps, the new version is expected to land on a streaming platform, with Hulu being a likely destination. The original series concluded in 2014 with an open-ended finale that left room for future stories, a narrative thread the reboot is now poised to pick up.

For British audiences, the announcement serves as the perfect incentive to dive into the critically acclaimed original series on Disney+ before the new chapter begins.
