BBC viewers received a scheduling announcement on Thursday night as The One Show confirmed it would not be airing its usual Friday evening slot.
Schedule Change for Charity
Presenters Clara Amfo and Scott Mills, hosting from the programme's iconic green sofa on Thursday, November 13, informed fans that the show was being pulled from the schedule on Friday, November 14. The change is to accommodate the highly anticipated Children in Need 2025 appeal show.
Wrapping up Thursday's broadcast, which featured an interview with The Forsytes star Millie Gibson, Clara Amfo told the audience, "Well that's all we've got time for tonight. As you know we're not here tomorrow night but Alex will be back with the appeal show so make sure you watch and have a great evening."
What to Expect from Children in Need 2025
The three-hour live extravaganza will broadcast from MediaCity UK in Salford starting at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. A team of presenters including Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Paddy McGuinness, Lenny Rush and Big Zuu will lead the evening's festivities.
The special is set to feature unique collaborations with beloved BBC programmes. In a rare Apprentice moment, Lord Sugar will find himself grilled in the boardroom by a panel of junior apprentices. Furthermore, audiences will get an exclusive preview of The Celebrity Apprentice: Christmas Specials, where celebrities create festive biscuits for the charity.
Highlights and Fundraising Challenges
Strictly Come Dancing and Gladiators will also make special appearances. The event will showcase members of The One Show's Challenge Squad, young people supported by the charity. Kat will perform a duet with Sam Ryder, while Eloise takes on a musical theatre challenge on skates with the cast of Starlight Express.
Adding to the fundraising efforts, Radio 2’s Sara Cox is scheduled to arrive at the Salford studio after completing a gruelling 135-mile challenge – the equivalent of five marathons in five days – to discover the total amount she has raised.
The sole aim of the night is to raise life-changing funds for children and young people across the UK. The One Show will return to its regular weeknight slot on BBC One and iPlayer at 7pm after the charity event.
