Stranger Things Star Debunks 'Secret Cut' Rumours as Fans Petition Netflix
Stranger Things actor addresses fan petition for 'unseen footage'

Stranger Things star Randy Havens has directly addressed swirling fan theories that a trove of unseen scenes was cut from the show's final season, dismissing the idea of a secret extended version.

Fan Petition Demands 'Unseen Footage'

Speculation began after the release of Stranger Things season five, part two on Boxing Day, Friday, December 26, 2025. Rumours quickly spread online that creators The Duffer Brothers had significantly edited down the all-important final season, leading to a fan-led campaign for the alleged missing material.

More than 350,000 subscribers have now signed a petition urging Netflix and the show's masterminds to release this rumoured "unseen footage". The petition's creator, Wennii J, argued that fans who waited years for the season deserve answers and a say, expressing disappointment that the finale did not live up to expectations.

Mr Clarke Actor Sets the Record Straight

Randy Havens, the actor behind the beloved science teacher Mr Clarke, took to Instagram to quash the rumours definitively. In a post, he stated clearly that "There's no secret Snyder cut of the show", referencing the extended director's cut of the film Justice League.

He added a blunt warning to fans: "Please don’t believe everything some random a** tells you on the internet." His comments represent the first direct response from a cast member to the growing online campaign.

Backlash Over Season Five's Final Episodes

The demand for additional scenes comes amidst significant viewer criticism of the final season's concluding chapters. On social media, many fans have labelled season five as the "worst one yet", citing pacing issues and a lack of suspense.

Common complaints from subscribers include:

  • Episodes feeling "long and boring" compared to the acclaimed fourth season.
  • Conversations and plot developments feeling rushed.
  • A perceived absence of the gradual buildup that characterised earlier seasons.

The series finale is scheduled to air on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31, on Netflix, concluding the global phenomenon.
