In a dramatic turn of events on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, actress Lisa Riley is set to confront her most daunting challenge yet: her first-ever solo Bushtucker trial. Airing in tonight's episode, Friday, 30th November, the Emmerdale star will brave the 'Mine of Misery' completely alone, a significant departure from her previous trials where she had the support of fellow campmates.
Descending Into The Mine of Misery
For the first time since entering the jungle, Lisa must rely solely on her own courage. The trial, dubbed the Mine of Misery, requires the 49-year-old actress to crawl through a pitch-black underground tunnel system. Her mission is to locate and retrieve hidden stars, all while being assailed by a host of creepy crawlies thrown at her from every direction.
Equipped with a hard hat and protective gear for her arms and knees, viewers will see Lisa on her hands and knees, gingerly navigating the oppressive darkness. The stakes are high: if successful, she will secure all the stars herself and provide a much-needed edible meal for the entire camp.
Ant and Dec's Encouragement & A Friend's Revelation
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are seen offering words of encouragement from outside the tunnel. At one tense moment, Ant turns to the camera, revealing to the audience that Lisa is "so close" to grabbing a star, completely unbeknownst to her as she is surrounded by what appear to be cockroaches.
Away from the trial's tension, a new dimension to Lisa's jungle journey has been revealed. In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, her close friend and Emmerdale co-star Bradley Riches shared a secret struggle Lisa faced before entering the jungle. Bradley confessed that her primary worry wasn't the bugs or the hunger, but whether she would make her loved ones proud.
"She sent me photos when she was on her flight and she seemed really relaxed," Bradley said. "The only thing she was nervous about was missing people because she loves her family to pieces. She kept saying she wanted to make people proud of her." Bradley, who is managing her social media during her time in the Australian jungle, added that it is "wonderful" to see her being her "authentic" self on screen.
More Than Just Trials: Campfire Laughs
The article also highlights a lighter moment from a previous episode, showcasing the camaraderie within the camp. During a break from challenges, Lisa, fellow northerner Aitch (Harrison Armstrong), and the "incredibly well spoken" southerner Tom engaged in a hilarious discussion about accents. The scene saw Lisa asking Tom to translate a sentence from her dialect into his, and Aitch mimicking Tom's pronunciation, leaving viewers in stitches.
