Jessie J Joins CBeebies for Inspiring Bedtime Story Amid Cancer Journey
Jessie J reads CBeebies Bedtime Story tonight

Chart-topping singer Jessie J is swapping the stage for the storybook in a heartwarming new television role. The acclaimed artist, famous for hits like 'Price Tag', is set to appear on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, marking a delightful departure from her music career.

A New Chapter on CBeebies

The mum-of-one will be reading to young viewers across the UK on Friday 28th November. Her episode will be broadcast at 6.50pm on the CBeebies channel and will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer afterwards. Jessie will be reading My Path, a book written and illustrated by Jana Curll.

The story follows a little snail as it navigates life's unexpected twists and turns, encouraging its young audience to embrace challenges and persist even when the future seems uncertain. The book's themes of hope and resilience clearly resonated with the singer.

A Message of Hope and Perseverance

Speaking about her participation, Jessie J shared an inspiring message. "Every day, we follow our very own special path, and it can take us in many directions," she said. "My path has led me here to read you a CBeebies Bedtime Story!"

She directly connected the story's message to her own life experiences. "Like the little snail in the story, we might experience bumps along the way and some big mountains to climb, but I say to myself, 'keep going Jess!' and I hope that’s what little ones and grown-ups take from My Path too."

She concluded her appearance with a sweet and motivational note for the audience: "Every path is special, so choose yours… and keep going. Life is one big and beautiful adventure. Choose a happy path, believe in magic and live your best life."

Inspiring the Nation to Read

The CBeebies Bedtime Stories programme is a staple of the children's channel, airing each weekday at 6.50pm. Its core mission is to inspire families across the nation to read together and to help establish a calming, consistent bedtime routine.

Jessie J's foray into children's television comes during a profoundly personal period. The 37-year-old singer has been openly sharing her journey with breast cancer. She found a lump in March and subsequently underwent a mastectomy in the summer.

She is currently waiting for a second operation, which has led to the postponement of her 'No Secrets' UK and European tour until 2026. Despite the challenges, Jessie has spoken with remarkable positivity about her diagnosis.

"I’m just grateful for the lessons and grateful, honestly, for the connectivity that it has given me with so many people having cancer," she reflected. "I’ve been a better parent, I’ve been a better person. I’ve honestly not sweated the small stuff."

She added with her characteristic candour, "Some things that used to stress me out don’t any more, because when life turns into something that you feel like you can’t control, you just gotta sit the f*** down."

Jessie J’s uplifting CBeebies Bedtime Story airs Friday 28th November at 6.50pm on CBeebies and will be available on BBC iPlayer.
