Jeremy Clarkson Admits Speeding, Faces First Points in 30 Years

Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has admitted to speeding, saying he will receive penalty points on his driving licence for the first time in three decades. Writing in the Sun, Clarkson revealed he was caught by a fixed speed camera while travelling between Whitby and London.

Clarkson said he was travelling too fast to qualify for a speed awareness course. He added that he had written last month in 'blind fury' about the number of speed cameras on that route.

The admission comes weeks after Clarkson and his Top Gear team sparked controversy in Argentina over a number plate that appeared to reference the Falklands War. Clarkson has insisted the plate was a coincidence, and the programme's producer denied it was a stunt.
