Hollyoaks Star Hints at Full-Time Returns After McQueen Special Episode
Hollyoaks Star Teases Full-Time Character Comebacks

Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter has exclusively suggested that several former cast members could be persuaded to make a permanent comeback to the iconic Channel 4 soap opera. This revelation follows a special dream-sequence episode featuring the beloved McQueen family, which has sparked speculation about potential full-time returns.

Nostalgic Reunion Sparks Comeback Speculation

In an intimate conversation, Theresa McQueen portrayer Jorgie Porter hinted that the brief reappearance of multiple past characters might ignite a desire among her former colleagues to rejoin the show indefinitely. The special episode, designed as a 'what-if' scenario, brings back fan favorites including Tina and Carmel McQueen—both previously killed off—alongside original family member Michaela.

"It's been over 10 years for some of them since they were on the show," Porter revealed. "Honestly, it will be as if they've never left. Can you bring people back from the dead? Probably, yeah. So I wonder if they do have that itch that they want to scratch."

McQueen Family Legacy Celebrated

This year marks two decades since the McQueen family first graced Hollyoaks screens, and Porter reflected on her own 18-year journey with the program. She described joining the established ensemble as a "miracle moment" in her life, expressing gratitude for how veteran cast members welcomed her.

"When I first joined the McQueens, I was none the wiser and nervous to be joining the family," she confessed. "It was so many women that had already been established, who they were as characters and how brilliant they were. They took me under their wing and they looked after me. It was wonderful."

Behind-the-Scenes Bonds Remain Strong

Despite the passage of time, Porter maintains connections with several former co-stars. She mentioned regular contact with Leah Hackett (Tina) and recent meetings with Gemma Merna. However, she acknowledged the challenges of balancing personal life with professional relationships.

"You become such brilliant friends and great friends with people at work, and then life just takes over," Porter explained. "I've got two children, I don't see any of my friends away from work ever. I try and see anyone. It's just very hard."

Among current cast members, Porter highlighted particularly close bonds with Jen Metcalfe, Nadine Mulkerrin, and Nicole Barber-Lane, praising the latter's influence on her children.

What Could a Permanent Return Look Like?

Porter playfully speculated about potential storylines should former co-stars decide to return permanently. When discussing the possibility of Theresa McQueen embarking on London adventures with cousin Michaela, she enthusiastically responded, "Yeah, film with them!"

She also paid tribute to Michaela's foundational role in the McQueen dynasty, declaring, "Michaela was the original queen. She was the reason we all exist. So hail Michaela."

The special episode features original actors reprising their roles in nostalgic scenes before the narrative returns to present day. This temporary reunion has undoubtedly left fans yearning for more permanent appearances from these cherished characters.
