Hollyoaks Star Jorgie Porter Details Theresa McQueen's Missing Role in McQueen Special

In an exclusive revelation, Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter has clarified the absence of her character, Theresa McQueen, from the dream-like sequences in the upcoming McQueen special episode of the Channel 4 soap. While Theresa appears in present-day scenes, she is notably missing from the 'what if?' moments that feature returning fan favorites.

Behind the Scenes of the McQueen Episode

The special episode, airing on Wednesday, explores John Paul McQueen's imagined scenarios, depicting how life might have unfolded if different choices were made and if deceased loved ones remained in the village. Returning characters include Carmel McQueen and Tina McQueen, both of whom died on the show, alongside John Paul's sister Michaela McQueen. However, Theresa McQueen's presence is limited to the present-day segments, sparking curiosity among viewers.

Jorgie Porter explained that she was originally scheduled to film the dream sequences but had to depart the set due to illness. She stated, "I was meant to be in it. I was sat in my dressing room, I was wearing a bandana. I had a really cool outfit on, but I had a chest infection, so I had to go home. I was meant to join in and see everyone, which would have been phenomenal. I was just too ill, too poorly, but I actually cannot wait to see."

Reflections on Co-Stars and Departures

Porter expressed excitement about the reunion, noting that for some actors, it has been over a decade since they last worked together. She added, "It's been like over 10 years for some people, how long they've been away, and honestly it will be as if they've never left." The episode also marks the exit of actor James Sutton from his role as John Paul McQueen.

When asked about Sutton's departure, Porter described it as "crazy" and shared her admiration for his acting skills. She said, "I've always loved James Sutton's acting ever since he was in Emmerdale. I remember him being just a brilliant, natural actor, and I've actually never told him that. My secret is out. I've always thought he's brilliant so I will miss him." She reflected on the sense of loss within the cast, emphasizing how absences become more apparent over time.
