Brawl at Sydney Petrol Station Involves Man Who Survived Shooting Two Years Earlier

A man involved in a violent brawl at a Sydney petrol station last week had previously survived an attempted murder in an underworld shooting two years earlier, according to police reports.

William Siale, 33, was one of four men who attacked Habib Alameddine at the Metro Petroleum on Belmore Road in Sydney's south-west on Thursday. CCTV footage shows the pair arguing inside the station before Siale's two friends joined him to throw Alameddine to the ground, beating him with milk crates and a concrete bollard. One of the men also threw the bollard through the back window of Alameddine's Bentley Bentayga, valued at $396,500.

Alameddine was taken to hospital with facial injuries and a broken arm. Police have launched a manhunt for the two other men, described as being of Pacific Islander or Maori appearance and aged in their 30s.

In July 2023, Siale and his brother Eric were shot at a Marrickville barber shop by a masked gunman. Both were hit, one in the chest and the other in the lower back, but survived. Police have since charged a man in connection with that shooting, though there is no suggestion the two incidents are linked.
