In a dramatic turn of events on Thursday's episode of Coronation Street, fan favourite Debbie Webster faced a life-altering decision in court, before a bombshell revelation was unveiled in an early ITVX release.
A Heartbreaking Courtroom Confession
Portrayed by actress Sue Devaney, Debbie stood nervously before the judge, charged with causing the death of vicar Billy Mayhew by dangerous driving, a second count of dangerous driving, and a third of driving under the influence of excess alcohol. Despite the frantic efforts of her husband Ronnie and brother Kevin to prove her innocence, Debbie uttered a single, devastating word: "Guilty. To all of them."
This confession came after a cruel campaign of manipulation by her other brother, Carl. Following the historic Coronation Street and Emmerdale crossover crash, which occurred on a dark country road after Debbie's wedding, Carl has been exploiting her vascular dementia diagnosis. He ruthlessly shifted her into the driver's seat while she was unconscious and has since convinced her she was responsible for Billy's death.
