Prince William to Give Controversial Royals Key Roles as King, Expert Says
Prince William May Give Controversial Royals Key Roles as King

Two controversial royals are set to have a key role when Prince William becomes king, a royal expert has predicted. Prince William is first-in-line to the throne. Since becoming first-in-line in 2022, he has been thinking about his future role. While it could be some way off, Prince William will one day be King, which comes with a lot of responsibility.

Over the last few years, William has hinted about what the monarchy could look like when he wears the Crown. Although he has not gone into detail, he has hinted that change will be on his agenda. He has also spoken about wanting to do royal with a small “r”, focusing more on impact and the positive ways he can improve people’s lives.

Whatever his mission, being King will entail a lot of work for William, and he will no doubt need the support of his relatives. The primary support he will turn to is his wife Princess Catherine, however, it is believed he could also turn to other royals, including his cousins. This includes his two controversial cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, whose parents have spent the last nine months wrapped up in scandals.

Speaking about how William may give Beatrice and Eugenie roles of some kind when he is King, royal expert Duncan Larcombe wrote in New Magazine: “William represents the next generation of royals, it's not going to be a million years before he's king.” He continued: "Frankly, I think he realises that, as Princess Anne and Prince Edward have supported Charles by carrying out royal engagements he can't do, you need a few peripheral royals to support the work of the Royal Family. So what we saw at Peter Phillips's wedding (William with Beatrice and Eugenie) is an indication - and the biggest hint yet - that William sees them as an important part of his monarchy."

At the moment, William already relies on some of his cousins at royal events, especially Zara Tindall. This can be seen when they step out by Prince William and Princess Catherine’s side when they host Buckingham Palace royal garden parties.
