Meghan Markle has faced a significant commercial setback as Netflix prepares to launch its new retail venture without stocking any products from her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Netflix House Exclusion
The streaming giant is opening its first Netflix House location in Dallas, Texas on December 11, featuring merchandise from hit shows like Stranger Things and Squid Game. However, despite the Duchess of Sussex's ongoing partnership with Netflix, her As Ever product range won't be available in the new store.
This decision comes as a particular blow given Meghan's lucrative multi-year deal with Netflix, which has already produced two seasons of her lifestyle programme "With Love, Meghan" and an upcoming holiday special scheduled for release on December 3.
Performance Concerns Behind the Snub
Industry insiders suggest the exclusion stems from the disappointing performance of Meghan's lifestyle show. Official viewing figures reveal that the first season, released in March, failed to break into Netflix's top 300 most-watched shows during the first half of 2025.
The programme was watched 5.3 million times but only managed to reach 383rd place in the streaming platform's rankings. The second season, which premiered in August, similarly failed to make Netflix's top 10 list despite the Duchess's established fanbase.
Official Response and Future Plans
Sources close to Meghan have downplayed the significance of the retail snub, insisting that As Ever products were always intended for exclusive sale through the brand's official website rather than third-party retailers.
The Duchess recently announced her holiday special on Instagram, sharing an image of herself decorating a festive table with the caption: "Embrace traditions and make new ones this holiday season. With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration arrives December 3rd on Netflix."
According to Netflix, the special will feature Meghan "sharing her favourite holiday traditions, seasonal crafts and family recipes with friends old and new", serving as a festive extension of her existing lifestyle programme.
The Mirror has contacted Netflix for official comment regarding the store exclusion, while representatives for the Duchess maintain that the retail decision doesn't affect her broader creative partnership with the streaming service.
