Shia LaBeouf Faces Arrest After Alleged Homophobic Slurs in Mardi Gras Brawl

Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans following a violent altercation during Mardi Gras festivities, with police reports alleging he repeatedly used homophobic slurs during the incident. According to documents obtained by The Daily Mail, the disturbance occurred at R Bar on Royal Street in the early hours of February 17.

Police Report Details Aggressive Behaviour

New Orleans Police Department officers were dispatched to the bar at approximately 12:45 a.m. in response to reports of a simple battery involving a man described as "causing a disturbance and becoming increasingly aggressive." The police narrative indicates that officers were informed "a white male subject was aggressive and struck multiple people" inside the establishment.

Upon arrival, officers identified LaBeouf as the subject after interviewing alleged victims at the scene. One victim reported that LaBeouf became "irate and aggressive" when bar staff attempted to eject him from the premises. According to the report, "the manager at the location attempted to put him out and Mr. LaBeouf attempted to strike him with a closed fist."

Escalation of Violence and Alleged Slurs

The situation escalated when LaBeouf was escorted outside but later returned to the location with "more aggressive" behaviour. Witnesses stated that "multiple people attempted to hold him down until police arrived," but LaBeouf was initially released in hopes he would leave. Instead, he allegedly "struck the same victim multiple times with a closed fist in his upper body."

Most notably, the police report claims that during the altercation, LaBeouf used a homophobic slur "multiple times." A second victim reported being punched in the face by LaBeouf, resulting in a dislocated nose that required medical attention. Officers further alleged that during the arrest and investigation, LaBeouf continued directing the slur toward both victims.

Additional Witness Accounts and Aftermath

In a particularly revealing moment documented in the police narrative, LaBeouf allegedly stated: "These f****ts put me in jail. I'm a Catholic." The report notes that LaBeouf directed the slur toward victims "multiple times" throughout the entire incident.

Additional witness Jeffrey 'Damnit' told The Hollywood Reporter about a separate encounter earlier that evening, claiming LaBeouf screamed homophobic slurs and threatened violence. Jeffrey alleged: "He was screaming at a bartender and had to be escorted outside. Once outside, he started pacing in the street, yelling, 'You're all a bunch of f**king f**gots. I'll kick your a**.'"

Following the altercation, LaBeouf was transported to Touro Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries before being booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center. A detective assigned to the case reported observing video footage allegedly showing LaBeouf hitting two individuals with a closed fist. Police confirmed that officers' body-worn cameras were active during the investigation.

LaBeouf was later released on his own recognizance and has not publicly commented on the allegations outlined in the police report. The Daily Mail reported reaching out to LaBeouf's representatives for comment but has not received a response at this time.
