The family of Savannah Guthrie has offered up to $1 million for information leading to the return of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy, who has been missing from her home near Tucson, Arizona, since 1 February.
The NBC Today show host posted a video on Instagram on Tuesday, more than three weeks after the disappearance, urging anyone with knowledge to come forward. “Someone out there knows something that can bring her home,” she said, adding that tips can be made anonymously to the FBI or directly to the family.
Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped or taken against her will. Investigators found drops of blood on her front porch and recovered DNA from a glove two miles from her house, which resembled one worn by a suspect in surveillance footage. However, officials said the DNA did not yield new leads.
In addition to the reward, the Guthrie family donated $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to support families coping with lost loved ones. The reward offer came after tips slowed following an initial surge, according to journalist John Miller.
Guthrie acknowledged the uncertainty faced by many families in similar situations, saying, “We still believe in a miracle.” She added that her mother “may be lost” or “may already be gone.”
