Dua Lipa Signs Multi-Million Pound Nespresso Deal, Appearing Alongside George Clooney in New Campaign

After two decades as the iconic face of Nespresso, Hollywood legend George Clooney appears to have been officially supplanted by British pop sensation Dua Lipa. The singer has inked a lucrative multi-million-pound contract to become the premium coffee brand's newest global ambassador, marking a significant shift in their celebrity marketing strategy.

Clooney and Lipa Share Screen in Playful Nespresso Advertisement

In the newly released campaign video, the aesthetically gifted pair come face-to-face for their first on-screen collaboration. Dua Lipa, aged 30, cheekily appropriates Clooney's legendary "what else?" catchphrase, before the 64-year-old actor makes a surprise cameo appearance. The advertisement opens with Dua sunbathing in a stylish yellow mini dress while reclining on an inflatable lilo in a picturesque villa pool.

George Clooney then floats up beside her, seemingly unaware of the poolside dress code as he remains fully attired in a smart grey suit despite being in the water. A visibly confused Dua turns and exclaims, "George?" just as he begins to recite his famous phrase in an attempt to reclaim the spotlight. Their exchange is humorously interrupted by a parrot before the scene transitions.

Nespresso Executives Explain the Strategic Brand Partnership

Nespresso's Chief Marketing Officer, Lorenzo Aizpuru, revealed that the company was particularly drawn to Dua Lipa because of her diverse activities beyond the music industry, specifically mentioning her Service95 book club and newsletter initiatives. A brand spokesperson clarified to industry publication Adweek that George Clooney "continues to collaborate with us and will appear in future brand activities."

The spokesperson elaborated further, stating: "This new campaign simply puts the spotlight on Dua Lipa, but George's long-standing relationship and contributions remain essential to Nespresso's brand identity and marketing legacy."

Dua Lipa Expresses Excitement About the Collaboration

The pop star shared her enthusiasm about the partnership, explaining: "I feel like I have grown up with Nespresso. There's always been a Nespresso machine nearby - at home with my family, on set, or in a hotel room - so teaming up with them was a really easy decision. I just love how they are always exploring new flavours and finding ways to evolve as a brand. Working together has already been loads of fun, and it's just the beginning."

Limited-Edition Coffees and Lavish Launch Events Celebrate the Partnership

To commemorate Dua Lipa's inaugural advertisement, Nespresso is introducing bizarre limited-edition coffees inspired by her adventurous tastes at The Recipe Remix - an immersive experience launching in London's Covent Garden Piazza between April 14 and 19. The unconventional flavours include Pickled Coffee Colas, Marmite & Avocado Toast Lattés, and Sea Salt & Olive Oil infused Affogato.

The coffee brand previously hosted an extravagant launch party in New York City last month to celebrate the new partnership. Dua Lipa looked exceptionally chic as she modelled a £77,000 BVLGARI necklace while showcasing three distinct stylish looks throughout the lavish event. In one particularly striking photograph, she wore a figure-hugging white midi dress while striking a series of sultry poses for the camera.

For her second ensemble, Dua switched to a green floral-print mini dress paired with matching over-the-knee boots, playfully posing on a terrace with New York City's iconic skyline as her backdrop. Her final look featured a stunning black lace mini dress complemented by semi-sheer black tights. The pop singer shared these glamorous photographs on her Instagram account with the caption: "Highly caffeinated in NYC with @nespresso."

The advertisement concludes with Dua Lipa returning to a Nespresso store and asking the camera, "So what else?" only to have a visibly frustrated George Clooney appear behind her and quip: "That is my line!" - humorously acknowledging the passing of the Nespresso ambassador torch from one generation of celebrities to the next.
