Jelly Roll Claims Louis Vuitton Staff in Sydney Treated Him 'Like a Criminal'

American singer Jelly Roll has accused employees at a Louis Vuitton store in Sydney of treating him 'like a criminal' while he was browsing. The 40-year-old musician, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, shared his experience in a now-expired social media post on Wednesday.

In the post, he claimed that staff looked at him as if he was about to 'rob' the designer store. 'I have never been looked at more like a crim... Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad... I was an actual criminal this bad,' he said.

Jelly Roll has been open about his criminal past, which includes multiple arrests and a prison sentence for aggravated robbery as a teenager. He has said he was first arrested at 14 and later charged as an adult at 16, serving over a year in prison followed by seven years of probation.

Despite his past, the rapper has expressed gratitude for his experiences, stating at the 2023 Country Music Awards that they gave him his voice and taught him about change. He has also faced travel restrictions due to his felony record, but recently obtained a US passport.

The Independent has contacted Louis Vuitton for comment on the incident.
