"I have a whole team of women behind me that help me be kinder to myself," Roan explained.
She candidly discussed her struggles with the music industry, stating, "I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm still learning how to be kind to myself because I actually have a lot of regret sometimes. I'm like, 'Why the f*ck did I pick this job? It's ruining my life.'" Roan added that she believes taking breaks from the industry is essential for self-care, calling it "really f***ed up" at times.
Roan also touched on the pressures of social media, noting she is often tempted to delete her accounts, which connect her to 16.2 million followers. "The Internet is not kind to you or me or anyone. That is self-harm," she remarked. Her therapist has advised her that improvement will come, but not soon, a perspective Roan finds grounding.
Reflecting on therapy, she said, "[Therapy] is important for being an artist, and especially one where there's a lot of eyes on you. But also the religious s***, I've been in therapy for years and years, and I'm still like, 'F***.' I'm not even religious anymore, and I'm still singing about it. I don't know if it ever goes away."
