The actress, best known for playing mischievous student Leigh-Ann Galloway in the hit BBC school drama, discovered her father was among Britain's most wanted criminals while she was building her television career.

Matthews explained how she uncovered the truth about her father's criminal past, separate from the man who raised her. "I found out my biological dad was one of Britain's most wanted," she revealed, describing the moment she learned about his extensive criminal record and status as a fugitive.
