Clarkson's Farm Series 6 to Air in Summer 2027, Documents Reveal
Clarkson's Farm Series 6 Airs Summer 2027

The sixth series of the hit reality TV show Clarkson's Farm is set to air in the summer of 2027, according to planning documents submitted to West Oxfordshire District Council. The programme, which first aired in 2021, follows former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson and his crew as they tackle the challenges of running his Diddly Squat Farm near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.

Upcoming Series and Filming Delays

The fifth series of the show is scheduled to launch on Prime Video in June this year. In February, Clarkson, 66, revealed in his Sunday Times column that filming for the sixth series had been suspended due to poor weather conditions. However, the newly surfaced planning documents confirm that the sixth run will hit TV screens next year.

Planning Application for Farm Shop Extension

The documents pertain to a request for a variance in conditions at his farm shop, specifically seeking an extension until 2030 for the operation of the site and the use of adjacent land for car parking. This is due to the continued popularity of the farm shop and further commissions of his show. In 2023, a planning dispute over additional car parking was resolved when an inspector granted permission for three years.

In the application, a planning consultant wrote: "At the time of the appeal the second series had just aired and it was renewed for a third series. The three-year time limit was chosen on the basis that if the third series was the final one, then two years of monitoring after airing was sufficient to assess demand. It is currently renewed for the fifth series which is yet to air. In light of the continued popularity of the site and associated television programme, we are requesting a further extension of the limited period consents for the use and associated development to provide car parking."

The consultant added: "The inspector clearly identified that the association with a popular current television programme is a unique circumstance which generates a time limited demand. The rationale is clear – at such time as the television programme no longer airs then demand may reduce and the parking required for the operation of the farm shop can be assessed and appropriate provision made. Given series five is yet to air we are requesting a new time limit is imposed ending on December 31 2030. Season five will air this year and season six has been commissioned and will air in summer 2027. Three further years to monitor and review thereafter seems appropriate."

Background on the Farm and Clarkson's Ventures

Clarkson bought the then Curdle Hill Farm, located within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nearly 20 years ago. After deciding to run the farm himself in 2019, he renamed it Diddly Squat Farm due to its lack of productivity. He later opened a restaurant on the site without planning permission, which was subsequently shut down by the council. Two years ago, Clarkson opened The Farmers' Dog pub, formerly The Windmill, in Asthall near Burford, which sells produce from British farmers.

Clarkson has become a vocal supporter of farmers and attended a protest in London in November 2024 against the government's proposal to introduce inheritance tax on farmland. The planning application for the farm shop extension will be determined at a later date.
