Shane Warne's Children 'Desperate' to See Mum Simone with Coldplay's Chris Martin
Warne's Kids Want Mum Simone with Coldplay Star Chris Martin

The children of cricket legend Shane Warne are reportedly championing a new romance for their mother, with their sights set on one of the world's biggest music stars.

A Family's Hope for Happiness

According to reports from Australian magazine New Idea, Brooke, 28, and Jackson Warne, 26, would "love" to see their mother, Simone Callahan, develop a relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The singer, 48, became newly single after splitting from actress Dakota Johnson in the summer of 2025.

The speculation follows a series of heartfelt family outings. Warne's three children—Brooke, Jackson, and their sister Summer, 24—alongside their 55-year-old mother, attended nine of Coldplay's sold-out concerts at Wembley Stadium. Social media posts from the siblings showed the group backstage with Martin, who was pictured with a supportive arm around Simone, a close family friend.

A Bond Forged in Friendship and Loss

The connection between the Warnes and Chris Martin is deep-rooted. Martin and the late Australian cricketer Shane Warne were close friends before Warne's tragic death from a sudden heart attack in Thailand in March 2022. The singer honoured his mate by performing a moving rendition of Coldplay's 'Yellow' at Warne's funeral and paid tribute to him during a concert at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium in late 2025.

"Chris has been looking out for them," a source told the publication. "Whenever there’s an opportunity to see them or have them at his shows, he makes it happen. They’ve seen how Simone lights up when she’s around Chris, so they’d love to see her finally happy again with a good bloke like him."

Shane Warne's Lasting Wish for His Family

The source emphasised that the children believe their father would have supported this potential match. "The kids also know their dad Shane would approve. He always wanted Simone to find the happiness she deserved," they added.

Simone and Shane Warne married in 1999 and divorced in 2005. They briefly reconciled in 2009 but parted for good after a personal indiscretion. In an interview with Men's Health a year before his passing, Warne spoke fondly of his friendship with Martin, describing their simple, judgement-free catch-ups and listing the pop star as one of his best friends.

Shane Warne, regarded as one of cricket's greatest-ever bowlers, took 708 wickets in 145 Test matches before his death at the age of 52.
