The records indicated specific contributions including $210.60 to WinRed, the primary payment processor for Republican campaigns, $340.60 to the Trump National Committee JFC, and $486.54 to Never Surrender Inc., a political fundraising organization with direct links to Trump's political operations. In a detailed Instagram statement responding to the growing controversy, Thomas wrote emphatically: "I WANT TO BE CLEAR: I am not MAGA and do not support any of the many policies that are causing great harm to the American people." She explained that her donations resulted from a common oversight, stating she failed to thoroughly examine the fine print when intending to support causes she genuinely cares about.

"I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print," Thomas elaborated. "I thought I was supporting causes against human trafficking and for veterans. Two things I care deeply about as my dad is a veteran and everyone knows I love children."
