Stacey Solomon fumes as husband Joe Swash misses her 'big' hair transformation
Stacey Solomon's husband Joe Swash fails to notice hair change

TV personality Stacey Solomon has taken to social media to express her mock fury after her husband, Joe Swash, failed to notice her significant new hairstyle. The incident, shared on Instagram on Thursday, comes as the 36-year-old singer recently opened up about the realities of her marriage, confessing she and Joe "argue all the time".

The Unnoticed Hair Transformation

Stacey, who married former EastEnders actor Joe Swash in 2022, decided to switch up her look by transforming her dark blonde balayage into a soft brown colour. She described it as a "big change" and felt like a "whole new woman" after the makeover. However, her excitement was dampened when she realised that no one in her immediate family had spotted the difference.

The only person who commented on her new look was her sister, Jemma, when Stacey saw her the previous night. Sharing two selfies showcasing her curly locks, Stacey penned a caption expressing her disbelief. "Really thought I would be brave & have a big old hair change," she wrote. "Turns out not one person in my family has noticed... Joe still to this very moment hasn't noticed."

A Playful Social Media Spat

The oversight sparked a light-hearted back-and-forth between the couple in the comments of her post. Joe Swash could be heard in a video defensively stating that he "noticed yesterday." Stacey swiftly retorted, "no you didn't," leading Joe to protest that he thought she had simply put extensions in.

Looking unamused, Stacey clarified that she has had the extensions "the whole time." Joe then suggested she had merely curled her hair differently. The banter continued until their five-year-old son, Rex, eventually took the camera, cutting the debate short. The couple share three young children together: Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two. Stacey also has two older sons from previous relationships: Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 12.

Behind the 'Couple Goals' Image

This amusing domestic episode follows Stacey's recent candid comments about her marriage to Joe. Often hailed as "couple goals" by fans, she has been keen to dispel the "myth of a perfect marriage." In an interview with Good Housekeeping, she stated that the idea of never falling out with your spouse is a "pipe dream."

She explained the pressures of their busy household, saying, "Joe and I argue all the time over the stuff that's got to be done. I feel like we're in that era: five kids, three of whom are young, so everything's a kerfuffle." Despite the frequent squabbles, the foundation of their relationship remains solid. Stacey attributes their strength to their shared morals and values.

"We got together because we like each other," she said. "We have the same morals and values, so even if we do have a couple of months of, 'F***king hell, I can't even look at you right now,' we'll eventually remember why we got together in the first place." So, while a new hair colour might go unnoticed in the chaos of family life, it seems the bond between Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash is as strong as ever.
