Music mogul Simon Cowell has been soaking up the Caribbean sun during his annual festive getaway to Barbados, sharing a series of playful snaps with his beloved pet dogs and fiancée, Lauren Silverman.
A Relaxed Family Holiday in the Sun
The 66-year-old television judge was pictured on Sunday, stripped to the waist while reclining on a white sun lounger. He appeared in high spirits as three of his Yorkshire Terriers – Freddie, Squiddly, and Diddly – perched on his lap. Cowell and his 48-year-old fiancée have jetted to the island for their traditional holiday break, bringing their entire menagerie of pups along for the ride.
Taking to Instagram, Cowell gave fans an insight into their pet-friendly vacation. He shared videos of what he called Squiddly and Diddly's 'annual swimming competition' and was seen giving another dog, Pebbles, a gentle lesson in the pool. Further highlighting his affection for his pets, he posted a picture of Squiddly and Diddly comfortably settled on his bed.
Love and Unity: A Wedding Beckons
The holiday also showcased the couple's strong bond. In one affectionate snap, Cowell wrapped his arm around Lauren as they sat on the back of a boat, both smiling broadly. Lauren looked chic in a red one-piece swimsuit, while Simon relaxed in black shorts and his signature sunglasses. She captioned a social media story 'Us' with a line of red love hearts.
This display of unity comes after a significant personal development. In Cowell's new Netflix docuseries, 'The Next Act', Lauren is seen legally changing her surname by deed poll from Silverman to Cowell. Lauren, who has a son, Adam, from a previous marriage, explained her decision was about family unity, stating, "I am Mrs Cowell. I have created a life with Simon, we have a child together."
Simon, who proposed on Christmas Eve 2021 after previously being reluctant to marry, has now confirmed a wedding is on the horizon. "When we decide to do it, it will be private," he said, adding, "the fact that she talks about changing her name, it's quite obvious where all this is leading to." He gushed about their "very, very close bond" and described them as a genuinely happy family.
From Barbados Meeting to Future Plans
The couple first met in Barbados back in 2004 but did not begin dating until around 2012. They welcomed their son, Eric, in 2014. Cowell also revealed that while Lauren was initially hesitant to appear on camera for his docuseries, the experience only strengthened his admiration for her, noting she is identical on-screen to her real-life self.
As they enjoy their sun-drenched retreat with their dogs and son, it appears life for Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman is entering a new, officially united chapter, with a wedding set to formalise their long-standing partnership.
