Love Island Winner Samie Elishi Dismisses Co-Star's Bullying Allegations

Samie Elishi, the triumphant winner of Love Island All Stars, has publicly refuted claims made by fellow contestant Lucinda Stafford that she experienced bullying during their time in the South African villa. In a recent interview, Samie, 26, labelled the accusations as "bizarre" and categorically false, asserting that no such behaviour occurred among the islanders.

Lucinda's Podcast Revelations Spark Controversy

Since departing the villa, Lucinda Stafford, also 26, appeared on Paul C. Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast, where she expressed feeling "bullied" by some of the female contestants, leading to her isolation from the group. This marked a stark contrast to her earlier statements in the villa, where she denied being bullied when questioned by fellow islander Whitney Adebayo. On the podcast, Lucinda described a power imbalance and a lack of friends, citing host Maya Jama's intervention during a tearful confrontation that garnered over 8,500 complaints in one night.

Samie's Firm Rebuttal and Post-Show Dynamics

Speaking at Carmex's Sip & Paint event at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel, Samie addressed the allegations head-on. "Some of the stuff that is being said is so bizarre, like the bully accusations, they are not true," she told the Daily Mail. "Every Love Islander that has gone on a podcast since the show has said categorically no one got bullied and obviously the show wouldn't go on if there was." Samie emphasised her strong morals and knowledge of the truth, stating she remains in contact with all co-stars except Lucinda, with whom she has unfollowed on social media, signalling the end of their friendship.

Tensions in the Villa and the Path to Victory

The rift between Samie and Lucinda escalated during the series when Lucinda, a fourth-time Love Island contestant, chose Samie's partner Ciaran Davies, 23, upon entering as a bombshell. Tensions peaked during a game of Snog, Marry, Pie, where Lucinda pied Samie with "full force," an act Samie described as feeling like a "slap in the face." Lucinda also clashed with other islanders like Belle Hassan, 28, over Sean Stone, 26, and Jessy Potts, 27, who criticised her "fake baby voice." Despite the intense environment, Samie, who won with Ciaran, admitted the villa became "not a very nice environment" towards the end, but she has no regrets and remains a devoted fan of the ITV2 show.

Moving Forward and Celebrity Engagements

Samie has since moved on from the drama, joining fellow Love Island stars such as Olivia Hawkins, Gabby Allen, Lauren Wood, and Kaz Kamwi for a lavish Carmex dinner event. The gathering featured makeup stations by celebrity artists Anna Lingis and Lielle Neury, where guests enjoyed Carmex applications. Reflecting on her win, Samie expressed disbelief and gratitude, noting the ongoing support from fans. "The fact that I've won is like the craziest thing in the world. I can't fathom it, but I love the show and I'll keep watching it forever," she said, highlighting the positive aspects of her reality TV journey amidst the controversy.
