Comedian Ruby Wax has offered fans a candid glimpse into her post-jungle life, sharing a series of behind-the-scenes photos while making some explosive revelations about her time on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.
Life After the Jungle: A Slow Readjustment
The 72-year-old American star, who was a surprise eviction from the ITV show earlier this week, took to Instagram to document her return to normality. She admitted she is "slowly readjusting to life outside of the jungle" in the caption accompanying the images.
One photo showed a refreshed Wax, having swapped her jungle attire for a stylish blue patterned shirt, posing with presenter Joel Dommett and former I'm A Celeb winner Danny Jones of McFly. Other snaps hinted at reunions with loved ones and messages on a phone, much to the delight of her followers.
Fans flooded the comments with support, with one writing: "Honestly the best contestant ever. Thanks Ruby," while another declared her "A star always."
No Holds Barred: Wax's Explosive Campmate Criticisms
However, it was in a frank interview after her exit that Wax truly let rip. Speaking to the Mirror, the comedian did not hold back in sharing her true thoughts about several fellow celebrities, particularly focusing on those involved in contraband scandals.
She expressed clear frustration at the actions of Shona McGarty and Alex Scott, whose secret stashes led to punishments for the entire camp. Discussing Shona's hidden butter, Wax complained: "That’s selfish….Shona was an insecure, kind of anxious person, and she’s come out of herself, and she’s verging on kind of entitlement."
On Alex Scott's decision to smuggle in salt, she added: "It took me by surprise. And Alex… she’s so refined, she brought it in, but none of them shared it. People are greedy and hard." She was equally baffled by the desire for air freshener in the basic camp conditions, questioning the priority of scent over sustenance.
Hunger, Hideous Food, and the Sweet Scandal
Ruby Wax also confirmed her shock over the 'sweet-gate' incident, where Kelly Brook, Aitch, and Angry Ginge won milk bottles for the camp but chose to keep half for themselves, consuming them before returning.
Reflecting on her biggest struggle in camp, Wax was unequivocal: it was the relentless hunger. She revealed she barely ate because the Bushtucker Trials' offerings were so revolting. "I was starving….it was always appalling," she said, describing "a chicken with web feet on it that was black" and "an eel with teeth."
She dismissed fellow campmate Jack's optimistic comparisons to chicken, stating plainly: "It was never like chicken. It was hideous." Her one clear highlight was being camp leader, not least because it offered a rare chance to put her feet up.
With her unfiltered commentary and social media insights, Ruby Wax continues to be one of the most talked-about contestants from this year's series, even after her departure from the Australian jungle.
