Rosie Fortescue's Night Out With Sabrina Elba Amid Ongoing Feud
Made In Chelsea star Rosie Fortescue enjoyed a Tuesday evening gathering with new companions as her protracted conflict with former co-star Lucy Watson continues to simmer. The 36-year-old reality television personality and jewellery brand proprietor was observed engaging in lively discussion with Sabrina Elba, wife of actor Idris Elba, also 36, over glasses of wine and cigarettes at Dorian restaurant in Notting Hill.
Celebratory Dinner With Social Media Swipes
Positioned outdoors at the fashionable establishment, Rosie appeared radiant wearing a sparkling fringed jacket paired with distressed denim jeans while conversing with Sabrina, who herself is a model and skincare brand founder. The assembly marked the first anniversary celebration of local bakery Reemies Cakes, with Rosie subsequently sharing photographic evidence of the convivial dinner via her Instagram platform.
The jewellery entrepreneur seized the opportunity to deliver another pointed remark aimed at Lucy Watson, their acrimonious disagreement having recently intensified when Rosie deliberately avoided Lucy's vegan recipe book launch event, opting instead for a steak dinner. Reinforcing her carnivorous dietary position, Rosie posted an image of Dorian's signature bone-in steak dish accompanied by the caption: 'Steak + sausage dogs can you even explain a better combination.'
Feud Escalation Through Social Media Exchanges
The animosity between these former Made In Chelsea colleagues reached its zenith recently following multiple brutal exchanges across social media platforms. After the initial two episodes of their E4 spin-off programme, Beyond Chelsea, were broadcast, both women posted thinly-veiled criticisms on their Instagram Stories regarding Lucy's vegan tasting event that Rosie conspicuously failed to attend.
Television viewers witnessed palpable tension between the two personalities throughout the new series, particularly when they were compelled to interact during mutual friend Binky Felstead's birthday celebration. Following their uncomfortable encounter at this gathering, Rosie received an invitation to Lucy's vegan event but declined, preferring instead to schedule a massage appointment followed by another steak meal.
Lucy expressed considerable displeasure upon discovering Rosie's decision, initially learning about it during the event itself before subsequently articulating her feelings directly to production cameras: 'She doesn't give a s**t, it's a choice. She doesn't want to be supportive. She doesn't want to be nice. She doesn't want to be friendly. Fine we won't be. F**k you.'
Contradictory Claims and Public Disputes
The off-screen conflict has since escalated further after Lucy accused Rosie of insufficiently supporting women, a charge that aired during Tuesday's second episode. Rosie retaliated by publishing a screenshot of her final WhatsApp conversation with Lucy, revealing she had received a 'look book' in November 2024 to forward to a friend for gifting purposes. She emphatically insisted she never actually received a formal invitation to Lucy's vegan tasting, captioning the image: 'Also wasn't invited to the vegan tasting and last message between us is sending her look book for me to send to a friend for gifting for her brand. Don't ever say I don't support women!'
Lucy responded with her own subtly barbed Instagram Story message: 'So grateful to everyone who came and supported me with the recipe tasting! Vegan or not the open mindedness was so refreshing #BeyondChelsea.'
Additional Points of Contention
Another source of disagreement emerged concerning Lucy's critical remarks about a poem Rosie recited during Binky's 35th birthday lunch, footage of which concluded the series' inaugural episode. After Rosie delivered the sentimental verse, the programme cut to Lucy sharing her candid assessment: 'It was sickly sweet, it's her 35th birthday. Not her wedding!'
Upon hearing these comments, Rosie immediately defended both the poem and its author, writing: 'My girl @pinky_studio_by_tally wrote this beautiful poem for @binkyfelstead birthday and she's one of the most talent, interesting, hard-working and funny women I know. To laugh at her talent is cheap and crass. Enough said.'
Rosie additionally confessed to feeling uncomfortable discussing personal matters with Lucy, whom she does not regard as a genuine friend, and deflected inquiries about her romantic life during filming.
Production Challenges and Behind-the-Scenes Tensions
Rosie, Lucy, and Binky initially reappeared on television screens last year through Channel 4's two-part spin-off series Beyond Chelsea, which documented their post-Made In Chelsea lives. The opening episode in January presented the programme as focusing on 'three friends making it in the world,' yet behind-the-scenes revelations indicated Rosie and Lucy 'hate each other's guts,' according to Daily Mail reports.
Production staff faced significant logistical challenges when two-thirds of the principal cast maintained such mutual animosity, complicating efforts to portray them as amicable associates. A source close to the production explained: 'This new incarnation of Chelsea was all about how these three women have all grown up. It was meant to show that they had moved away from the squabbling and petty cat fights of their youth. But Rosie and Lucy can barely stand to be in the same room as one another, which made shooting the show a bit of a nightmare.'
The insider further elaborated: 'The tension between the pair is so obvious. This is supposed to be a series about three friends yet it is anything but. I think it is fair to say there is no love lost between Rosie and Lucy.' Despite these interpersonal difficulties, the documentary-style sequel continues to follow the three women as they juggle motherhood, family responsibilities, romantic relationships, business enterprises, and public visibility.
Producers attempted to incorporate familiar faces from Made In Chelsea's peak popularity period to expand the series, securing appearances from original cast member Ollie Locke and Lucy's sister Tiff Watson. However, this strategy proved less successful than anticipated, with an insider noting: 'So many of the former Made In Chelsea cast members felt they have outgrown the series, and don't want to do anything related to it. And the biggest names that first found fame on the show now have spin-offs and documentaries of their own already.'
