Night Tara is tipped to return to winning form in the Sky Sports Racing Virgin 519 Fillies' Handicap (1.50) at Southwell on Thursday. The Sir Mark Prescott-trained filly, a daughter of Night Of Thunder, went unraced as a two-year-old and struggled in her first three starts of 2025 at Newcastle, Carlisle, and Chepstow.
Earning a BHA handicap mark of 57, she made a successful debut in the handicap sphere when stepping up from a mile to 10 furlongs at Chelmsford City in mid-October, edging out Sansanetti by a short head. Last Saturday, she reappeared in an apprentice handicap over the same course and distance, narrowly missing a follow-up win with a half-length second to Masqool.
That effort is considered upgradeable, as Night Tara raced wide on the turn before finishing strongly. An additional furlong around Southwell's galloping layout should suit the filly, who still has more to offer on her sixth career start.
At Lingfield Park, Little Keilee, second at Wolverhampton and Newmarket on her last two starts, is the selection to go one better in the Download The Raceday Ready App Fillies' Handicap (6.50). The Newsboy's double comprises Night Tara and Little Keilee.
